Trying to find a therapist for OCD?
Accepting New Clients
Hi! I'm Theresa (she/her), a therapist in Washington state with expertise in treating OCD.
I am especially skilled in treating “rumination as a compulsion”—those mental compulsions that no one else can see you doing but that cause you so much suffering. Ugh, OCD can be so tormenting! But the good news is I have several effective treatments that can help!
I work with adults, teens, college students, and parents. You've come to the right place!
How I help
Together, we find what works best for you!
I offer effective treatments:
- Exposure with Response Prevention (ERP)
- Inference-based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (I-CBT)
- Metacognitive Therapy (MCT)
- Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions (SPACE)
There are multiple effective options! We can take what science says works and apply it to your life.
Let's work together!
A bit about my approach and values
My approach to treatment involves teamwork. I will not push anything on you. You have expertise in you, and I have expertise in OCD treatment. Together, we can make an effective team!
This might seem like a no-brainer, but I really am interested in fostering humility, kindness, compassion, and a safe environment during therapy. There is so much to be said about the therapeutic alliance. Living with OCD is tough enough—my aim is to maintain space for kindness and warmth in your recovery.
People with OCD can suffer for an average of 17 years before they connect with a skilled OCD therapist. I want you to have access to effective, up-to-date, science-backed treatments.
My practice is neurodiversity and queer affirming. So often our unique ways can be pathologized by others. I am committed to making OCD treatment neurodiversity and LGBTQIA+ affirming and I practice humility.
We can have some fun with our work! Therapy isn’t always laughs and giggles, but it doesn’t have to be boring or dreadful either. It’s not uncommon for my clients and me to have a good laugh here and there. Our work can be fun and exciting!

Time Limited Treatment
The length of therapy can vary significantly for each individual person. Some clients have met their treatment goals in a few sessions, while others have continued therapy for much longer. The average duration of treatment through ERP is 15–20 sessions, while the average for I-CBT is 12–20 sessions. These are only estimates and may not reflect your individual needs or outcomes.
OCD Recovery is Possible
You deserve to live life without obsessional doubts and it's my passion to help you get there!
My personal lived experience and recovery from OCD help me to support others with understanding and non judgment.
I look forward to joining you in your recovery from OCD! It is possible and there is hope!
